Lyngsoe Systems Library Solutions and Timberland Regional Library Announce the Implementation and Launch of Intelligent Material Management System

On Monday, January 13, 2025, Timberland Regional Library (TRL), headquartered in Tumwater, Washington, successfully launched the Intelligent Material Management System (IMMS) from Lyngsoe Systems Library Solutions (LSLS). Timberland Regional Library is the first library utilizing the Symphony integrated library system (ILS) from SirsiDynix to implement IMMS.

“With 29 branches spread out across five counties, we have been searching for a collection management tool to help us move materials purposefully throughout our system. One that balances a high interest browsing collection and efficient use of technology and staff time.” said Cheryl Heywood, Executive Director of Timberland Regional Library. “IMMS does this and more – this will give our patrons fresh collections for browsing, no matter where they live in our 7,000 square miles of library district we serve. The options are vast for managing and developing collections, and we are thrilled to a part of the first cohort of SirsiDynix library systems in North America to adopt this.”

Following extensive development and testing to ensure seamless integration with their existing library management system, Symphony, TRL is now poised to experience the numerous benefits IMMS offers. This innovative system is designed to streamline the handling of physical items across the library’s extensive network, allowing staff to dedicate more time to assisting and engaging with patrons.

Colin Carter, IMMS Business Director at LSLS, emphasized the significance of this milestone. “Timberland going live with IMMS marks a significant milestone in the history of this transformational application,” he stated. “This achievement highlights the close collaboration between SirsiDynix and Lyngsoe Systems in developing this integration, making IMMS accessible to Symphony libraries worldwide. We are excited to welcome many more Symphony libraries to the IMMS family in the years to come.”

“Working with Lyngsoe, Timberland, and other SirsiDynix Symphony customers on building a robust interface between Symphony and IMMS has been so rewarding. We are looking forward to seeing the positive impact that it will have for Timberland with improved management of their collection, and we are pleased to be able to offer the IMMS interface to other Symphony libraries going forward” says Shawn Andary, Symphony Product Manager for SirsiDynix.
