The challenge​:

Quick response strategy in case of recalls

Being faced with increased food traceability requirements as well as internal demands for improved supply chain efficiency made HAVI Logistics look for a new warehouse and distribution system in 2005. The system should provide them with a quick response strategy in case of recalls, enable supply chain visibility, and be scalable to support future market expansion. Full visibility and traceability were necessary to utilize the system for continuous supply chain optimization.

Our solution:

Real-time transparent overview of the flow of products

Our solution provides a real-time transparent overview of the flow of products from manufacturers through distribution centers to restaurants. The system manages real-time traceability in 38 European DC’s and documentation is available through web-based reports to assigned users. The solution handles the following warehouse and distribution processes:

  • Receiving of goods (HACCP, quality inspection)
  • Picking of goods
  • Loading of goods (consolidation and loading control)
  • Delivery/Proof of delivery
  • Stocktaking
  • DC to DC replenishment
  • Load unit and packaging material administration (housekeeping)
