Lyngsoe Self-Operated Library™ is a solution that makes it possible to extend the library’s normal open hours without staff being present. It is a complement to the existing manned hours, in which library users can still receive the necessary help and guidance. In short, it is a service that allows library users to gain access to the library’s facilities when it suits them.
The robust and easy-to-use entrance unit is the first step in greeting your patrons welcome to an extended service experience – up to 24/7, and configurable to your needs.
When your patrons are using the unmanned library, you might want to include security gates as part of your solution. The users will be made aware that they have not followed the correct check out process, even when staff is not present.
Multiple components for a complete system
Lyngsoe Self-Operated Library not only controls the outer doo, but also additional doors within the library building to e.g. give access through a walkway or the restroom facilities. This is control with additional reading units.
Camera solutions ensure that the library or authorities can see, what is going on in the time without staff present - who went out when a secured item left the library and activated the Alarm Gates?
The integration with the Alarm System and the Lighting System ensures that a safe access is granted and only in the permitted zones.
The integration with the Audio System allows Lyngsoe Self-Operated Library to play automatic messages.
All together controlled by the automated functions and the Time Schedule, which with ease can be set by the staff.
Good to know
Lyngsoe has installed Self-Operated Library in many different countries and climates. So, it also works in the far North of Finland, where it is exposed to extreme cold and humidity, as well as in a location near you. Especially the entry unit must be robust to take on the weather and also vandalism.
The complete system can be supplied by us, but integration to already installed audio systems is common.
Through the administration software, the time schedule is easily made and put into action in the library space to e.g. play an automated message saying "The open library period begins in ten minutes - please go outside...". However, with Lyngsoe Systems the unpleasant situation of asking the patrons to go outside, wait, and the log-in can be avoided, if you also have our kiosks with the integration to Self-Operated Library installed. Now the patrons just have to be asked to go to a kiosk (e.g. the LibDeco F20) and log in on the screen - no conflicts, when it is raining outside.
